Cauliflower

Though it's limited how much money I spent at Atali (e.g. I've completely forgotten my pin code for my visa - luckily I've also got a Mastercard and a pin code reminder for it), then I still need some cash once in a while. And since a car was going to Rishikesh today for shopping, I managed to get a seat and hence also a visit to the vegetable market.

The vegetable market in Rishikesh is a wholesale market. The vegetable sellers from all over town come here every day to purchase new veggies for their small carts. They spend the rest of the day selling their goods around town.

The Indian vegetable markets are always a wonderland for a photographer and since it's not an everyday thing that an "angrezi" (foreigner) comes by, I was a very welcome photographer - no issues getting anybody to smile.

Photogenic vegetable market.

When a bag is full, it's stiched - needle and thread.

As it obviously show on the next pictures, it's the season for cauliflower!

Our bill - we'd spent about 45 $, including 15 kg cauliflower for 3 $ and 30 kg. tomatoes for 8,5 $. Food is not expensive in India.

Buying gas.

And a self portrait while waiting for the gas.
